What a great day!! The coaching staff could not be happier with the girls’ first competition.
Were there a few hiccups? Yes. But they did great and the hiccups that happened are easily fixable. I am proud to be their coach!
The coaching staff is currently talking with the governing body of all-star cheerleading as well as the competition company. The youth team had a 10 point deduction for an illegal stunt; the safety judge from the competition was incorrect in deducting the 10 pts. As I said we are working with the competition company to rectify this situation so it does not happen to another team that is competing with that company. They are also checking to see if this would have made a difference in the ranking of teams in our youth team’s division.
We have two weeks until our next competition on Feb. 14th at IUP. We will be working the girls hard in practices and we are asking that the girls work hard at home. Also please don’t forget there are always tumbling classes available (at a discounted price for Marvels!) through the gym.
A big thank you to Stacy (daughter Erin on Youth) for the noisy and cute shakers she made for the competition!! And a big thank you to Theresa (daughters Amanda Youth/Jr, Jess jr.coach) for the beautiful banner!!
Anyone who took pictures please share with me! If you could either e-mail them to me or put them on a disc for me I would be forever grateful. We could really use some new pictures on our Marvels board by the cheer floor as well as on the gym web site.
